Bénédicte (“Béné”) Rocher Chanard was born and raised near Paris, France. She's been living in the Seattle area with her husband and their two chilren since 2013, with a move back to France from 2016 to 2017.

She graduated with a degree in French Literature and Communication and worked in Human Resources for a major French airline before her move to Seattle. Being strongly attached to her native language and culture, it was important to keep teaching French to her kids, especially during Covid. She truly enjoyed it, so joining Les Lilas felt like the perfect next step for her.

In her spare time she likes paddling, skiing, making smoothies, and having movie or game nights with her family.
