GÉRALDINE LE CALVEZ
Art Teacher
Géraldine Le Calvez was born and raised in France in the beautiful region of Brittany. In 1996, she settled in Seattle and started her career in the corporate world. In 2016, she decided to focus on what she loves: art, French, and kids. She started her own company, “Life through a Paintbrush” and displayed some of her art in Seattle coffee shops and galleries, while teaching French and “French through art” classes in after-school programs for the Seattle and Shoreline public school districts. In 2017, Géraldine joined Les Lilas as an assistant teacher for La Grande Élémentaire and as the school’s art teacher, in 2019, she became the assistant for L’Élémentaire, and in 2021, she became a lead teacher for La Maternelle.
Géraldine is the proud mom of twins who were born prematurely in 2002. Both required special needs for several years, which started her on a journey to find the right tools for their education and their independence. Today, she could not be happier to share with her life experience with her Les Lilas students.
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, running, gardening, and spending time with her husband and children.
IF YOU COULD HAVE DINNER WITH ANYONE, DEAD OR ALIVE, WHO WOULD IT BE? WHY?
Without any hesitation, it would be with my grandmother Sophie. She was my biggest supporter, my advocate, my mentor, and my best friend. She died when I was 32 years old, and, as a young mother, her insight, her experience, and her love would have been priceless to have. I think of her every day.
