Reed Carpenter moved to the Pacific Northwest at 9 years old and has stayed in the area ever since. With an interest in language and communication he graduated from Seattle University in 2000 as an English major with a degree in Creative Writing, and immediately began working in the tech field. He began as a contractor at Microsoft working on the Printing team as a software test engineer, and later began working in hands-on IT support and as a webmaster.

He currently lives in South Seattle with his wife, a dog, and 1.5 cats (a street cat from the neighborhood has 'adopted' them and lives in the yard!).

Reed enjoys writing, reading, and creating visual art with an emphasis on figurative and imaginative realism using watercolors, oil paints, gouache, and acrylics. He streams his painting process weekly on Twitch and has enjoyed developing a community of viewers and friends online.
