Summer Camp Update – April 12th, 2020
This is an unprecedented time in our country and around the world, as we all continue to navigate the COVID-19 outbreak. These past few weeks have been nothing short of challenging for everyone—especially children. We recognize that these are unique times, and we want to do everything we can to alleviate any stressful decisions you may have to make about enrolling your child in camp this summer. Please see below for some adjusted policies and answers to questions you may have.
Are you still planning on holding summer camp as scheduled?
This summer, children will need the Les Lilas camp more than ever. We are anticipating an amazing summer and are currently planning to hold all summer programs as scheduled.
We cannot wait to have Les Lilas full of children again, especially for some summertime fun! As long as it’s permissible, we’re going to do everything we can to operate our summer camps.
We do recognize that we are in a fluid, ever evolving situation. We are closely monitoring the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), the Washington State Department of Health and other state/local officials.
What if camp is unable to run physically this summer?
Following the success of our move to online learning, please know that we are fully ready to move our camp ONLINE if necessary.
We are planning to invite your children to experience the magic of a Les Lilas camp at home. Our team is working hard to provide the full “Les Lilas experience” by preparing online, interactive and physical activities that can be performed at home.
Our online French thematic summer camp will be the perfect way to sharpen your children’s French skills and to make sure they still can create memories this summer from the comfort of your home.
When will you make the call to cancel a physical camp and move online?
At this time, we have no plans to cancel any summer programs. We will continue to monitor the situation and will make decisions based on CDC, WHO and Washington State health policies and recommendations closer to the start of camp.
